Factors For Determining What The Top Motorcycle Is

There are a number of factors that are used in determining what the top motorcycle is and it's sometimes a difficult task to take on because of the large number of motorcycle types, makes, and models available on the market today. A few of the different factors used in determining the top motorcycle will be described here.

First of all, before you begin to weed through the options available for the top motorcycle spot, you really have to separate the different bikes out into their distinct categories. Most motorcycles can be placed into one of two general categories, the sport bike, and the cruiser. There are other categories of motorcycle, but for the sake of picking the top bike, it's generally a good idea to have less categories than more so you don't have a bunch of motorcycles on the list, and no solid decision on which is the best.

Once you have sorted through the list of candidates for the top motorcycle spot in each category, then you can begin to list the different highlights of each motorcycle which include a number of different factors. Some of those factors include performance, design, popularity, and more.

A motorcycles performance will play a large role in determining where it falls in the list of top motorcycles for the year. Obviously, a motorcycle that out performs most of the competition will appear higher in the list as long as it also rates well in the different categories. Performance can be measured in a number of ways which include the way the motorcycle handles in different situations, road tests, etc. Performance can also be measured with statistical data such as the max speed, gas mileage, engine displacement, torque, horsepower, and much more. These are all factors of performance which can be used in determining which is the top motorcycle.

Another factor is design. A well designed motorcycle will that can also perform well will have a much better chance of reaching that top spot than a motorcycle with a poor design and good performance. The reason being is because the appeal of a motorcycle is also very important to riders, and those bikes that look well, rank high. Design does not just include the look of the motorcycle, it also includes the layout of the controls, the positioning of the seat and how the rider is situated on the bike. It includes the way the bike is built and whether or not the bike feels good when you're riding it. These are just a few factors that are considered when rating the design of a motorcycle.

Popularity plays a huge role in the decision of which motorcycle is the top motorcycle on the market. Brand preference and loyalty can also have a hand in the popularity because of the fact that those who are loyal to any one specific brand are going to stick to that brand in most situations. So the most popular motorcycle will likely get the votes for that top spot if it performs well, and is designed well at the same time.

Additional Features That Improve The Value Of Your Car

If you have ever gone out to buy a new or used car, you know the choices are unlimited. First you pick the type of body style you want; sedan, pickup, van, SUV, or station wagon. Second you may look at brand names of car companies, or this may be first for you. Third, choosing color and fourth, extras.

Each factor in your decision will determine the cost of the vehicle as well as its resale value. Will you pick a vehicle with just the basics or a LS model? And what is a LS model beyond meaning a luxury sedan? Here are a few things that make a vehicle that luxury touch:

• Power - You have seen the abbreviations PW, PS, PB. They stand for power windows, power steering, power brakes. There is also power locks. Adding power can push the value of your vehicle up. Power windows alone can add around $125 to $300 to the value of a subcompact car. Power locks can add another $200.
• Sound - Does your vehicle have a premium sound system? Does it include a MP3 player or CD player, multi-disc or single or rear seat DVD systems? A multi-disc CD player alone can potentially boost the value of your car up to $300 and $500 dollars.
• Sunroof/moonroof - People love having extra light in their cars. And not every vehicle comes with sunroofs or moonroofs, therefore the addition of this feature can boost the value of your car from $200 to $600, depending on whether it is sliding, electric or a push-up.
• Premium Wheels - Are the wheels premium alloy or aluminum? These additions to a vehicle will not only add style but value, anywhere from $150 to $600 in resale value.
• Navigation Systems - While navigation systems used to be just for the very expensive luxury vehicles, today they are a bit more common and still in high demand. Some built in systems help owners unlock their vehicles when they lock their keys in the car or dial 911 for assistance in emergencies.
• Color - This isn't as obvious as the other factors. Many vehicles come in standard colors but when you jump up to luxury you get a unique set of choices. For instance with the Lexus LS, sedan colors include Black Opal Mica, Golden Almond Metallic and Opaline Pearl, just to name a few. If you are looking at getting the highest resale value for your vehicle, you may steer away from choosing odd colors when buying your car, such as purple, yellow or orange. Also, if you live in a hot climate, black may not be a good choice.
• Other Extras - There are many other extras that can boost your cars resale value. They include leather interior, which can add $500 to $600 to your car. Size of engine, cruise control, sports performance packages, air suspension, all-wheel drive, rear defoggers, title steering wheels, heated seats, extra trim, dual front or side air bags, and power seats.

Adding lots of after-market extras will not necessarily add value to your vehicle, such as name brand stereo systems or lift kits. Sticking with the basics that are tried and true is your best bet in finding a car you will enjoy and those after you will.

Unusual Custom Limousines Are The New Way To Stand Out From The Crowd!

It seems as though everyone wants to ride in a limo at least once. Whether it’s a prom, a wedding or just a wild night out with friends Americans spend over 4 billion dollars annually with more than 5,000 chauffeured car rental companies to choose from. With statistics as sky-high as those it’s getting harder and harder each year to stand out from the crowd with something new and different. Why should you have to settle for the same standard limousine when with just a little bit of looking you can hire yourself a custom limo that is guaranteed to make heads turn and jaws drop?

It seems like only yesterday when the first modified Hummer Limousines started appearing in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Sparked by the craze for the modified military vehicles started by Hollywood icon Arnold Schwartzenegger, the Humvee H2 became instant fodder for car designers imaginations. Hummers seemed to be a natural choice for Limo builders as their sturdy frames and over-sized engines made them particularly suited to the heavy-duty requirements of a service vehicle capable of seating 12 or more riders comfortably. The Hollywood panache associated with Arnie and his ilk gave the Hummer limo an instantaneous status symbol.

What started as a bachelor party novelty soon became a staple of limousine rental companies around the globe. But as the unique becomes the familiar something new must step forward to fill the hunger consumers had now developed for out of the ordinary limousines. Fortunately, the breaking of tradition that the Hummer Limo had ushered in was only the tip of the custom limo iceberg.

These days limos come in a multitude of shapes and sizes, having been constructed from a wide variety of previously ‘un-stretched’ vehicles. One of the most commonly limousine- modified cars of late are the Ford 650 and the GMC 5500, two more heavy-duty vehicles intended for use by industry and private owners with excessive horsepower requirements which suited the needs of limousine designers perfectly. The GMC 5500 has a striking profile, reminiscent of a tractor trailer truck reduced to a more-friendly big-pickup size. When you pull up in one of these bad boys with 20 of your closest compatriots in the rear you make an unmistakable statement of power and masculinity.

Though the ‘big truck’ look carries an air of manly toughness, it might not be the thing to impress you date, or bride-to-be. Maybe a sports car-conversion is more to your liking. Quite expensive, though no longer as rare as they once were a stretch-modified Corvette, Ferrari, or even Lamborghini will undoubtedly be the talk of the driveway as well as the highway. They may not be as fast as their un-extended predecessors, but nevertheless they will give some bystanders whiplash with their head-turning design.

Need more speed than a stretch Ferrari or Lamborghini can offer? In Los Angeles, custom car designer Jay Ohrberg has a passion for creating the most extreme limousine designs. His Jet Limo has an airplane jet engine reminiscent of the infamous Batmobile - assuring riders that they won’t ever be late to the big event.

If you’re feeling a little retro you can hire one of the many Volkswagen Bug Limousines being made by the more inventive car modifiers today. You may have to duck to get into the rounded love-bug stretched beetles, but you’ll find the interior spacious and some models able to accommodate 10 or more riders.

A new innovation in modified vehicles has come forward to suit the needs of hard-core party people. Aboard the Party Bus New Jersey merrymakers can give up all worries of missing even a moment of drinking while being ferried from one venue to the next. A modified commuter shuttle bus, the Party Bus has a full sound and light system, and a stocked bar with optional bartender. It puts a whole new spin on the concept of ‘designated driver’.

However you choose to stand out from the rest of the red carpet crowd you can be confident there is a limousine design to suit your fancy!

Terms Pertaining To Green Cars

With the green colour enveloping the automotive world, we now have to understand the new green words. Let us learn some of these new terms.

E85

E85 is a blend of 85 per cent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline. This is the most common blend of the alcohol-based fuel and is slowly increasing in distribution around the United States and other countries. Adding that small amount of petroleum offers a number of advantages, including the ability to start in extremely cold climates.

Ethanol

Ethanol is an alcoholic fuel that is viewed by many as a viable alternative to petrol and other petroleum-based fuels. Until now, ethanol had to be produced from sugar-rich sources - corn is most common in the US, sugar cane in Brazil - but a new cellulosic process (Refer Part-I) could expand the number of feed stocks. Ethanol may actually increase the performance of an internal combustion engine. But compared to gasoline, it also contains less energy, measured as BTUs, per litre and thus typically results in lower mileage.

Fuel Cell

First conceived in the mid-19th century, the fuel cell was first put to serious application as the energy source for America’s Apollo moon program. At its simplest, the technology feeds hydrogen into one side of a “stack” and oxygen (or regular air) into the other. In the most common fuel cell design, the hydrogen passes through a catalyst covered proton exchange membrane, which causes it to combine with the oxygen. The resulting reaction produces both water vapor and a small amount of current that can be used to power a spacecraft - or drive an electric motor. Fuel cells are sometimes referred to as “refillable batteries”.

Lead-Acid Battery

One of the most common types of battery, this technology combines lead plates and an acid, such as hydrochloric, to produce direct current. The interaction of the acid on the lead creates an electrical current. It is heavy, but relatively cheap and durable.

Lithium

The central ingredient in two of the newer and more promising forms of batteries, lithium-ion and lithium-polymer. Already common in rechargeable portable devices such as MP3 players, laptop computers and cellphones, lithium-based batteries store lots of current (high energy density), and can both store and discharge quickly. But they are also quite expensive, which limits their use in devices, such as hybrid and electric vehicles, which need extremely large battery packs.

Travel with Ease

The best thing about traveling is arriving at your destination, no doubt about that. For most people, the mere thought of going on a long overnight flight overseas is enough to scare the living daylight out of them. Flying thousands of miles across the globe need not be a dreadful feat. Though it seems there’s just no way of getting around it, here are some useful tips to ease the suffering that is long-haul flights.

Be prepared
Take cue from the boy scouts and always be prepared. It pays to be organized when it comes to traveling. When your trip is well thought-out, the hassles of going abroad would definitely be lessened, if not totally reduced to nothing. Be organized when it comes to travel essentials and documents, from airline tickets to hotel confirmation print-outs.

The best way of making sure you have all necessary travel paraphernalia is by printing out all the details of your trip before you leave. Stash the list into your hand-carry bag and make an extra copy to be put in your luggage. Take note of factors such as shuttle service schedules, hotel confirmations, directions and phone numbers and arrival and ground transportation details so to minimize confusion. A friend’s recent trip to New Jersey turned out to be a disaster as there was a mix-up in the car and chauffeur service she hired. She rented a stretch limo in NJ to make her arrive on time – and in style – to her brother’s wedding. She ended up being fetched by one of those fancy wedding limos from NJ airport instead.

Collect, collect then select
When it comes to choosing your flight, scout for as many airlines as possible. Opt for direct flights if there are any available ones. For connecting flights, try to choose one that would make a stopover in a country that you have already been to, or at least familiar with, for ease of navigation when you saunter into the airport.

As for seats, avoid middle seats at all costs. If you weren’t given the privilege of choosing a seat upon ticket purchase, check-in early on departure day for more chances of scoring a window or aisle seat. Know what type of aircraft you’d be boarding and the amenities available a well.

Upon landing
It’s best to make arrangements in advance with car chauffeur services. When I went to the U.S. for a business trip, I rented an airport limo in NJ. Plan ahead and do research on ground transportation options. In my case, the last thing I wanted was to be picked up at the airport by one of those snazzy NJ prom limos or a NJ party bus.

Upon check-in at your hotel, take a short nap to help you get on schedule with local time. Explore the hotel’s immediate surroundings and don’t stay in your room for too long to get your body clock all set.
